U.S. Strikes Iran Again; Tehran Retaliates Against Bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain

CENTCOM says Marine, Air Force and Navy assets targeted Iranian surveillance, communications and air-defence sites at the President's direction; Washington adds a new wave of sanctions on the IRGC

U.S. Central Command said American forces have completed a new round of strikes inside Iran, targeting military surveillance capabilities, communication systems and air-defence sites. Officials said the targets posed a threat to U.S. forces and to international commercial shipping operating in the region.

Iran said it struck back at U.S.-affiliated bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for the American operation near the Strait of Hormuz. Washington has responded with a fresh wave of sanctions on entities linked to Iran's defence ministry and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad shortly after take-off on Wednesday after developing a technical fault. The ISPR confirmed there were no survivors among those on board.

At least ten people, including children, were killed when a tourist van fell into a nullah and caught fire on the Islamabad–Murree Expressway. The van was carrying members of a single family travelling from Multan to Murree.
